Beautiful work, imho! Semi-precious stone sculpture is what I see. Very nicely blurred background too.

Oh, only 'semi' - I guess I'm sad!

Thank you very much for your nice comment :-)

A pure pleasure! :)
:D - Cheer up, they remind me of 'tumbled' round black opal, tiger's eye, amethyst and such. They're all gems and some of the nicest things you can see! Precious stones are often shaped with facets (diamond) - not very smooth.
I didn't mean to diminish your brilliant fractal!
Be well

This is a fascinating piece for me.  I am familiair with many fractal programs but have never tried Mandelbulb.  To get those shadows and depth, I would have thought to head for 3dsMax, start modeling, mapping and lighting.  I am very impressed with this work.

What a kind comment   Tolyya bow roses 2  Thank you!

Well, with M3D you *can* get really great looking results, and clean renders.
However, the control is much more rough than in professional 3D programs, I assume.
But it's good as an entry to the 3D world - you can relatively easy come to nice results. -- Just try it ;-)

You are most welcome.  I am about 5-6 hours into M3D.........wow, really interesting flow in this program compared to Apo and others.  I really like creating a bulb and then learning to spot an area to zoom into and work on.  Thank you so much for posting Bubbylonia Rises and firing me up to try this software. :)

Yes, you are right, the handling completely different.
Personally I found it easier to learn (especially compared with Apo ;-) ), perfect for people who can only spend a limited time with fractals etc.

Amazing!  I agree with audre, it's simple but complex, with a depth that creates a world.
